| Analysis Plan Title | Influence of COVID-19 vaccine motivators on vaccine intention: a comparative assessment of individuals with and without cardiovascular diseases |
| Analysis Plan Description | The analysis will draw on survey data collected between 2020 and 2022, encompassing responses up to wave 15 (n = 69,653). Cardiovascular disease (moderator variable) is operationalized as any disorder affecting the heart or blood vessels. COVID-19 vaccine intention (dependent variable) is operationalized as the likelihood of getting the vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccine motivators (independent variables) are government-initiated measures to modify behaviours towards receiving the vaccine. These study variables include two, one, and ten items from the iCARE survey, respectively. Chi-square test will be used to assess the bivariate relationships between vaccine intention and vaccine motivators and to determine the differences between participants with and without CVD. Multiple linear regression will be used to determine which motivators act as predictors of vaccine intention in people with CVD versus those without. In all analyses the independent variables will include participant sociodemographic variables such as age sex gender residence educational level and COVID-19 vaccine motivators. In the regression analysis adjustments will be made for socio-demographic variables like age, sex, gender, residence and educational level. Interaction terms will be applied in the regression analysis to assess the relationship between vaccine motivators and vaccine intention by disease status. In all statistical analyses the significance will be set at 0.05. |
