Analysis Plan TitleConflits relationnels durant la COVID-19 : impact des problèmes financiers liés au statut d’emploi
Analysis Plan DescriptionMandatory periods of isolation during COVID-19 have resulted in job losses and significant financial problems in Canadian households, but little is known about the relational impacts of the pandemic. A better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of relational conflict is needed since their frequency and intensity are important determinants of not only household violence, but also child health problems (e.g., psychological disorders, behavioral disorders, attachment disorders, etc.). This study examined impacts of COVID-19, specifically employment status and financial issues, on relational conflicts (physical and/or verbal). These variables are also examined according to gender (women and men) and the presence/number of children in the household. We examined 4 rounds of Canadian representative sample survey data from the iCARE study (www.icarestudy.com) collected via an online polling firm (Leger©) between June 4, 2020 and March 23, 2021, which included 9011 Canadians. Participants self-reported the impacts of COVID-19 their employment status, financial situation and on relational conflict.
